Quick Production Update
over 5 years ago – Wed, Aug 08, 2018 at 12:42:32 AM

Hello Backers,

Here is a quick production update on STEM Epic Heroes.

We received the final mass production copies for proofing a few weeks ago. The standard edition looked good, but the collectors edition had a few errors from the manufacturer. (insert frustrated facepalm!)

At this point, everything has been corrected and we have given final approval on all versions. We are waiting to hear back on the updated timeline from our manufacturer in China, but these corrections and the back and forth with the manufacturer have set us back at least a month or so from our last posted timeline.

Sorry for such a long delay with this update and for the manufacturing delays. We are doing everything we can to get this first version of the game out and as perfect as possible.

As always, we are grateful for each and every one of the backers of this project! Thank you for your ongoing support as we head into the final stretch!

( PS: We tried to include some snapshots of the production ready copies but the image upload in Kickstarter keeps failing. We will try to include them on the next update.)

Hello Awesome Backers!

We wanted to give everyone just a few quick updates for this month:

2. STEM.cards is live!
This was one of the campaign stretch goals. Check it out and get a sneak peak at some of these amazing Hero cards at http://stem.cards.

3. Rule Book Translations are completed and now being formatted to go up on the website. Stay tuned!

Thanks everyone for your continued support and patience! We are really looking forward to getting this game into your hands!

Production Update / Photos!
about 6 years ago – Sat, Mar 31, 2018 at 01:56:49 AM

Hey Everyone!

It’s been a busy couple of months and there are lots of things to talk about, but we’re going to try and keep it brief.

Production Update

We have some good news and bad news, and we’ll drop the bad news first. It appears that we were a bit too optimistic when estimating our original ship date and we wanted to give everyone some more specific details on our timeline now that we have clearer information from all the partners involved. We’ve had a couple of setbacks with production that have caused us to have to move back our ship date a decent amount and some of that was outside of our control (admittedly, some of the delay was us refining the product to get it just right). Production is scheduled to wrap up by mid to late May at this point. Unfortunately, with most of this process, we’ve had little control over this timeline once we got into the actual production phase and should have estimated more wiggle room - our inexperience with mass production definitely shows and we are extremely sorry for the inconvenience! We are doing our absolute best to expedite everything. Once the games leave the factory, they will be sent to our fulfillment partner to get ready for shipping. It takes about 40 days to get the freight to fulfillment. This puts our fulfillment in July. We know it’s a bummer to have to wait longer, and we’re just as sad you guys are, but all of these delays have been to ensure that you would receive the best product that we could produce.

That being said, here are some photos of the hard proof copies and they look great! The machine produced copies will look even better, but we’re already super thrilled with the product! It’s turned out so well.

Hero Swap

Originally we had included Wernher von Braun in our game due to his achievements in rocket technology and the part he played in Space Exploration. After further education about his complicated life, we have decided to remove him from the game. While his STEM related achievements are undeniable, with our research and deep dive into the specific role he played in the Nazi party and his involvement in slave labor during the Holocaust, we can’t in good conscious keep him in the game. He was classified in the game as an “Engineering” hero and is being replaced with Alexander Graham Bell. Bell was part of an original lineup pre-KS, so we already had some art started and chose him as to not lose anymore time on our production timeline.

Here is his finished art, which we are super excited about!

Extras

Both the Scanning App and the Hero resource site, STEM.cards, are nearing completion. We are very excited about this aspect of the project that will give curious players a starting point to learn more about the Heroes of STEM! Rule booklet translations are also underway, so those will be ready and available online when the game ships.

We are so excited for you all to receive your games! The wait is killing us! Thanks to everyone who has been a part of this campaign and supported us through the last several months. We owe it all to you guys!

Updated Digital Prints
about 6 years ago – Wed, Feb 14, 2018 at 10:10:16 PM

Hey Everyone!

We wanted to give a real quick heads up that we are sending out updated digital print files. We had a little mishap with our print files when we originally exported them for BackerKit and the Hero Names were messed up. Now they are updated and should be good to go.

Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!
